ITINERARY

FRIDAY 02 NOVEMBER 2018 / ARRIVE HOBART
Suggested arrival in Hobart in the mid-afternoon. Renaissance Tours or your travel agent can assist you with your flights and other travel arrangements.
Make your way to the hotel and check in, followed by a welcome briefing with Peter and fellow travellers at 17:30.
Tonight, enjoy a special welcome dinner at Franklin restaurant, a former Ford showroom from the 1920s converted into one of Hobart’s fine dining establishments, with an indoor rose garden.

SAT 03 NOV / HOBART (HUON VALLEY)
The early morning is at leisure for a visit to Salamanca Market, Hobart’s famous Saturday market.
In the late morning, travel to Fat Pig Farm in the Huon Valley for a sumptuous lunch utilising locally-grown produce. Owned by Matthew Evans, the star of SBS’s Gourmet Farmer¸ Fat Pig Farm is a farm-to-plate dining experience.
After lunch, continue to Home Hill Winery for a tour and tasting. Rich soils and reliable rainfall provide perfect conditions for the production of Home Hill’s award-winning Pinot Noir, as well as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Sylvaner.
Return to Hobart in the late afternoon, followed by an evening at leisure.

SUN 04 NOV / HOBART (COAL RIVER AND DERWENT VALLEYS)
In the morning, travel east to the Coal River Valley for a visit to Frogmore Creek Wines, notable for its fine Riesling, Gewürztraminer and Pinot Noir.
Continue to Pooley Wines, Tasmania’s only third-generation vineyard, and a regular winner of Gourmet Traveller’s Best Small Cellar Door for Southern Tasmania.
Then travel westwards to Stefano Lubiana Wines in the Derwent Valley for lunch at the winery’s osteria. The menu changes every day, according to what has just been picked from the estate’s bio-dynamic vegetable garden.
After lunch, travel to the Museum of Old and New Art (MONA) for some free time in this extraordinary art collection. Then enjoy a special tour of Moorilla Estate, the winery connected with MONA.
Return to Hobart for an evening at leisure.

MON 05 NOV / HOBART (BRUNY ISLAND)
Spend a day visiting the stunning natural – and gastronomic – delights of Bruny Island just off the coast of Hobart.
In South Bruny, enjoy a tour and tasting at Bruny Island Premium Wines, Australia’s most southerly vineyard. The 49-hectare estate produces rich dark cherry Pinot Noir and golden Chardonnay. Lunch is at the winery.
Travel north along The Neck, the narrow isthmus connecting South and North Bruny, to Bruny Island Cheese Company for a tasting of artisanal cheeses, paired with fresh oysters from the Great Bay.
Return to Hobart in the evening before a special farewell dinner with Peter and fellow travellers at Mures Upper Deck, a hook-to-plate seafood restaurant overlooking the yachts riding at anchor at Victoria Dock.
